​V​ictims of intimate partner violence lose a total of 8.0 million days of paid work each year.

​The cost of intimate partner violence exceeds $8.3 billion per year.

Despite greater public awareness, housing and shelters are not enough to keep  victims​ safe.

​1 in 15 children are exposed to partner violence, and 90% are eyewitnesses to violence
B​etween 21-60% of victims of intimate partner violence lose their jobs due to reasons stemming from the abuse.

​Despite a restraining order, there is still little to prevent an abuser from finding and repeating abuse.

​Only 34% of people injured by intimate partners receive medical care for their injuries.

Why Do Victims Stay
The abuser will follow through with the threats of he will hurt or kill them or the kids if they try to leave.

Study shows 20% of homicide victims were family members, friends, neighbors, person who intervened, law enforcement.

Lack of means to support themselves and their children, no money, shelter programs are full or limited length of stay

How Victims are affected
Deny or minimize  or make excuses for the abuser.

Be hopeful that abuser will change or stop abuse.
